Linux For You Review
bugsquish-lfy.jpg The Augsut 2003 issue of Linux For You magazine reviewed Bug Squish in their 'Games Penguin Play' article (page 30), giving it a 3-out-of-5 rating.

The game, if it can be called so, has a simple objective -- to kill as many bugs as you can before they suck you dry? Sound familiar? To defend against the blood-sucking insects, you have a fly swatter in your arsenal. The game throws 32 waves of insects to attack you. What is your bonus? Extra blood, of course. Apart from the background music, the game has some good high-quality sound effects. You control the squatter with your mouse.

The inspiration for this game comes from the MacOS game 'Blood Suckers'. The game window has our wristwatch-wearing hand being attacked by mosquitoes. Two small windows at either end in the bottom of the screen keep tab of the scores.

  • "This is for people who like strange game-ideas. Try it, you will laugh... Kids in particular might find this funny." - Rob

  • "I love this game." - Pete Salzman

  • "Great action bug-killing game! A must have for arcade hardcore-fans!" - Georgie

  • "It's a funny little game" - Niels

  • "I've been a big fan for a while now, Bobobot and Bugsquish were actually the first two programmes i ever managed to successfully compile. Good memories, cheers mate!" - John Knight

  • "I can't wait until tomorrow when my son tries this!! I losta miserably! Loaded like a charm. [My son] will have a blast. We just got our Mac OS X, with the optical mouse. It will be an adjustment for him to squish with it rather than the old. He'll do better than I." - Linda
